The third installment to the wildly popular Rock Band series is slated to debut in North America and Europe on October 26, 2010. The newest version features all kinds of new things, including some hugely popular songs, great new controllers, and connectivity features for hooking up players on their favorite social networking sites.
The free Rock Band 3 has confirmed 83 new songs to be featured in the game along with access to more than 2,000 songs from previous versions of the series. New songs include "Imagine" by John Lennon and "Rehab" by Amy Winehouse.
Rock Band 3 free will also give players the ability to create and share a set list with their friends in the game and also on their website Rockband.com. There are added song filters to cut down on the time spent searching for their song of choice.
One of the best new features is the new keyboard controller. This takes the game up a notch and allowing another person to be involved in game play. There are lead guitar, bass, drummer, and vocal parts on previous versions. The keyboard controller can also be played out of game.
Cymbal mods for free Rock Band 3 are expected to trump previous versions. Adding the crash and top hat cymbal to the electronic drum kit satisfied the most novice rocker to even the most prolific drummer. There is also a real string guitar controller debuting. This will be a huge change from the standard colored buttons and frets from previous controllers. The addition of strings to the fully electric guitar will up the level of challenge to the game.
There are different levels of difficulty on the free Rock Band 3. Players will be able to hone in on real music skills playing in the Pro Mastery level. The Pro Drum level features expandable cymbals with the ability to differentiate between the tom and the cymbals. Pro Keys and Pro Guitar also feature advanced sensitivity to enhance the entire gaming experience. Novice players have nothing to worry about. There are still the normal easier difficulty settings for those who are playing for the sheer fun of it.
Rock Band 3 free will also feature a whole new set of challenges. These can be posted on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter which will create a whole new level of competition among players. If the gaming console is connected to the Internet via its built in Wi-Fi capabilities, band members can update their status with their achievements after completing a set list or winning a bonus score.
